Hebrews 7:24-25 (NIV) 24 but because Jesus lives forever, he has a permanent priesthood. 25 Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.

Numbers 16:46-50 (NIV) 46 Then Moses said to Aaron, “Take your censer and put incense in it, along with burning coals from the altar, and hurry to the assembly to make atonement for them. Wrath has come out from the Lord; the plague has started.”

Numbers 16:46-50 (NIV) 47 So Aaron did as Moses said, and ran into the midst of the assembly. The plague had already started among the people, but Aaron offered the incense and made atonement for them. 48 He stood between the living and the dead, and the plague stopped.  49 But 14,700 people died from the plague, in addition to those who had died because of Korah. 50 Then Aaron returned to Moses at the entrance to the tent of meeting, for the plague had stopped.

1 Peter 2:9 (NIV) But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.

Revelation 5:8-9 (MSG) He came to the One Seated on the Throne and took the scroll from his right hand. The moment he took the scroll, the Four Animals and Twenty-four Elders fell down and worshiped the Lamb. Each had a harp and each had a bowl, a gold bowl filled with incense, the prayers of God’s holy people. And they sang a new song: Worthy! Take the scroll, open its seals.

Big Idea: An intercessor is basically one who stands between. In a courtroom you have a judge, prosecutor and an attorney who represents the accused. He stands between the judge and prosecutor and pleads or argues the case on your behalf. The bible says that we are to do the same for the people around us.

Prayer Focus: Prayer for healing and that the spirit of fear would be bound

  • As you stand in the gap for others: Pray for their peace, health, and provision
  • Pray for those afflicted with the Covid-19 virus and the grieving would be comforted
  • Pray that people would not be moved by the spirit of fear but would instead of have the mind of Christ
  • Pray that anxiety, depression, fear and worry would bow their knee’s to the name of Jesus
